Land pollution is adding of unwanted wastes onto the land that reduce the land for human activity like agricultural, residential, recreational and etc.. and cause harm to the organisms.

Cause of land pollution
  • Agricultural activities
  • Littering
  • Landfill
  • Mining
  • Deforestation

Effect of land pollution
  • Health Problem
  • Destroy vegetation and shelter
  • Endanger of wild life
  • Acid rain to kill plants
Ways of reducing land pollution
  • Reuse of plastic bottle
  • Recycle of metal
  • Encourage organic farming
  • Reduce on paper (Save Trees)

I think that this website is quite good. It is because for each selected topic, it has the information for the topic and also has a mini quiz to test for your understanding. In this way, it will make the study more meaning full.

In my opinion, I think that land pollution can be greatly reduced by almost everyone. It is quite easy to be done. For example, the can drink that we drank can be threw to recycle bin instead of those normal bin that we saw. We can try to reuse plastic bag like bring a plastic bag while shopping. This had been a practice in Singapore. On every Wednesday, all the place will not give any plastic bag when you buy things. You have to bring your own plastic bag if you need it.

Enough of air pollution. Let move on to water pollution.

Water pollution is contamination of water due to human activities. It may cause harm to the living organisms in the water.

Cause of water pollution

  • Ship discharging waste into sea
  • Discharge of chemical waste into river
  • Refuse dumping into rivers
  • Oil spillage
  • Chemical spraying in agriculture contaminates underground water

Effect of water pollution

  • Fertilizers help the bacteria in the water to grow and increase the concentration of bacteria
  • Oil float on top of the water and prevent the organisms in the water from breathing
  • People might die or sick after consuming underground water
  • Destroy of Food Chain

Ways of reducing water pollution

  • Not to dump anything to the sea, river, etc
  • Minimize the use fertilizer
  • Maintain the vehicles if there any leakage

I think the website above is quite good as it presents about pollution stuff in cartoons, joke and humor ways. In this way, it will make young people more interested in those topic rather than having words.

In my opinion, most of water pollution had have direct or indirect impact on our foods. It is like you reap what you sow principal. You polluted the water then you also have to bear the consequences. In this case, you will not have fresh fish as all the fishes are dead caused by our negligence.

Pollution is an issue of concern for years. It is a process that harmful substances are added to earth. There is a few form of pollutions such as air, water and land and etc.

Air pollution is released of gaseous pollutant from incomplete burning of fuels due to human activities.

Gaseous pollutant includes carbon monoxide(exhaust of vehicles), lead, carbon dioxide(burning of organic compound), nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide(burning of fossil fuel) and etc.

Cause of air pollution
  • Burning of rubbish
  • Chimney fumes from industries
  • Exhaust fumes from vehicles
  • Using chlorofluorocarbons in foam

Effect of air pollution
  • Global warming
  • Death
  • Respiratory disease
  • Depleting of ozone layer
  • Acid Rain
Ways of reducing air pollution
  • Install of catalytic converters in vehicles
  • Take bus instead of private car
  • Install filter on chimneys
  • Use non-fossil fuels
  • Use ozone friendly products

This is a reliable source as it is from World Health Organisation and it latest update is at August 2008. It stated the statistic which support the fact.

In my opinion, I think that we can try to reduce air pollution by playing a part but not totally eliminate it by using the above ways that I stated. By reducing air pollution, we can get more refresh air and make the earth more "healthy". Imagine that in the morning when you wake up, you take a deep breath and the air turn up to be smoky gas. In order to prevent that to happen, let play a part to keep the earth and ourselves healthy. I had been doing my part, so do you?
